Description: Marquette University High School is currently looking for a full-time German teacher for the World Languages Department beginning with the 2013-2014 academic year.
In recent documents the Society of Jesus has stressed that Jesuit schools “should be outstanding not so much for number or size as for teaching, for the quality of instruction, and the service rendered to the people of God.” Marquette University High School seeks teachers qualified in their field who are open to growth, religious, loving, intellectually competent, and committed to social justice.
Teacher expectations include:
• a full-time teaching load of 5 sections per semester
• assisting with pastoral activities including student retreats
• co-curricular involvement
• prefecting duties
• participation in faculty orientation and formation programs
The ideal candidate will:
• demonstrate commitment to the principles of Jesuit education
• possess a Wisconsin Educator License or be working toward licensure
• hold a master’s degree or be working toward a master’s degree
• be fluent in German
• have high school teaching experience
