German: Sportfreunde Stiller - '54, '74, '90, 2006 (song)

Here is Christina with a fun German soccer song:

The song is great for reviewing dates and numbers with students. The first three numbers in the song title refer to the years in which Germany won the soccer world championship - die Weltmeisterschaft! In 2006, we really wanted to win because it took place in Germany but unfortunately, we did not.

As you see in the lyrics below, there is another version of the song with 2010 instead of 2006 but, as you might know, Germany did not win then either. Let's hope the best in 2014!!! Daumen drücken! - Keep your fingers crossed! :)
